About Seymour Matters

Seymour Matters was established to provide a dedicated source of local news, sport and community coverage for Seymour and the surrounding district.

Mitchell Itter is a communications and public affairs professional with experience across state politics, government relations, media and strategic communications. He has held communications roles with leading Australian industry associations, including Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia, Roads Australia and the Public Transport Association Australia New Zealand, and previously worked in state politics.

Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, International Relations and Media & Communications from the University of Melbourne and a Masters of Education from La Trobe University.

A long-time member of the Seymour community, Mitchell has been actively involved with the Seymour Football Netball Club, Seymour Running Club, Seymour District Cricket Association and Tallarook Cricket Club. His extensive involvement across local sporting organisations has provided a strong understanding of the people, issues and opportunities that shape the Seymour community.

Seymour Matters is independently owned and operated. Editorial decisions are made independently with the aim of delivering accurate, balanced and relevant local reporting. The publication welcomes story ideas, community news and feedback from readers as it works to strengthen local journalism across Seymour and the district.
